Speaker 1: Today, we're going to take a look at the Reece Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with the Rotating Turret, and has a 19,000 pound weight capacity.With this Sidewinder, the fifth-wheel trailer's pivot point is going to move an extra 22 inches toward the rear of your tow vehicle so that you can easily make 90 degree turns, even with a short-bed truck, so there's no need to get out of your truck, throw a switch, push a button, or mount a fifth-wheel slider. Your trailer will even track more closely to the truck for better drivability. The 22 inches is measured from the center of the king pin right up here, to the center of the turret post.This Sidewinder and turret assembly will bolt onto your fifth-wheel trailer. Speaker 1: Today on our 2019 Forest River Sabre fifth wheel, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Reese sidewinder fifth wheel kingpin with rotating turret, part number RP61420. Now whenever we're doing fifth wheel towing with a truck that has less than an eight foot bed, typically we're going to have some clearance issues. The front of our fifth wheel is going to want to make contact with the cab whenever we make a sharp turn.Well that's where our sidewinder's going to come into play. It's going to move the pivot point from the pin itself right here. It's going to move it all the way back to where our pin box mounts. So we're going to have a full 22 inches of extra clearance and it's all going to be done because of this capture plate here and the rotating turret.Before we put the sidewinder in, you can see we did have a little bit of an issue where our camper came up and hit the side of our truck. more

Part number, RP61420.The Sidewinder's going to be an all in one solution for your turning maneuver needs with your fifth-wheel trailer.It's going to reposition the pivot point from your king pin, 22" back. Moving the pin back will be ideal for short bed trucks, where clearance between your trailer and your cab is too tight for close corner maneuvers.When comparing this to other options on the market, such as manual and auto sliders, you're going to get further travel, as most sliders only offer a foot to a foot and a half, where this has 22 total inches.Manual sliders are going to cause you to have to get out of the truck to position it back, get back in and then make your tight corner and then reset it again. Speaker 1: Today in our 2015 Keystone Raptor, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Reese 5th Airborne premium 5th wheel air ride coupler. This is the standard 12.5 inch wide air ride pin box, part number is 5AB-S500-700. The typical complaint that we get when people are hauling 5th wheel trailers are the amount of force that comes down on the rear of the truck, and sometimes the chucking effect that they can get. It doesn't make for a very comfortable ride. Requires quite a bit of driver input trying to get everything working together.What we've done here is replace that standard fixed pin box with the Reese 5th Airborne. This pin box has a pivot point located here that allows the inside to move independently from here. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Northwood Arctic Fox we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride and King Pin with Sidewinder and Turret, part number RP61422. Here's what our Airborne Sidewinder looks like once we have it installed. This is not only going to replace our king pin, but it's also going to give us a rotating turret, which is going to allow us to make a lot tighter of turns. Instead of the pivot point being at the king pin, it's going to moving back an extra 22 inches, which is going to allow us a lot more maneuverability and allow us to make up to 90 degree turns.So in the case of a short bed pick up truck, this is going to allow us to make those extra tight turns without having to get out, flip any switches, or install a slider in the back of our bed. This is also going to have the trailer track more closely to our truck, giving us better maneuverability. It does have a fully enclosed air bag which is going to reduce chucking by up to 60%, and the vertical load shock by up to 44%, which that not only is going to give us a better ride, but it's also going to take the wear and tear off of the frame of our coach as well as keep the contents inside nice and secure.Now, our airbag is easily adjusted with these two bolts, and the general rule of thumb is the lighter the tongue weight, then the closer to the front that we're going to have those bolts, and the heavier the tongue weight, the further back they're going to be. more

Now this pin box will replace your standard pin box on your fifth wheel trailer, to improve the handling and limit the stain on the truck and the trailer. It does use a parallel linkage design system, which will minimize chucking by allowing that kingpin to move with your truck. There's two links on each side that'll guide the kingpin plate along a smooth controlled path. That brings the kingpin back to center without any jarring or recoil. And on those two lengths, there's two urethane bumpers that'll connect on the inside, on this side and on this side, and this is to help absorb any road shock.This is a maintenance free design, so it's unlike any of the air ride couplers. more

Today on our fifth wheel trailer we'll be installing the fifth airborne premium fifth wheel air ride coupler part number 5AB-E1621-610. Let's go ahead and show you how to operate the new air ride control on the fifth airborne coupler. We'll simply remove the plastic cap and apply air or pressure to the Schrader valve. This will blow up the bag and push down on the bottom plate of the coupler showing the line necessary to fill your airbag up to. Now, this will vary by vehicle and trailer but the line indicator here is a good starting point. Now, first, before we can install the new king pin, I'll need to remove the old or manufactured. more

Today on inaudible 00:00:01 camper, we're going to install part number RP614Q2. This is a fifth airborne, premium, fifth wheel, air ride king pin. You see it does not move, it's a inaudible 00:00:12 hitch, but further up on inaudible 00:00:13 by the camper. First thing you do is go ahead and remove original pin box. To do that, we needed to disconnect our electrical. After we have our electrical disconnected, we'll go ahead and remove these 4 bolts. There will be 4 on each side. more

Today were going to review Part# 5AS16K. This is the Reese Elite Airborne/Sidewinder Combo. This one has no turret, and it is a 16,000-pound weight capacity. The reason this does not have a turret is because it is required you have to mount a rotating turret on here to work correctly. We do sell those separately, but theres about five different ones that you would need to choose from, and youll have to pick the correct one for your application because the turret itself is made to fit a particular pin box manufacturer that is on your fifth wheel. Once you get what pin box manufacturer you have and then choose the correct turret, then you could just add that turret to this and youd be all ready to go.This 5th Airborne/Sidewinder Combo will provide the benefit of both a 5th airborne air-ride pin box and the automatic turning of the sidewinder pin box. more

Today we're going to review part number RP61420. This is the Reese Sidewinder fifth wheel king pin with the rotating turret. This premium fifth wheel pin box coupler will replace your trailer's king pin for worry free turning when using a short bed pickup truck. Basically, when you tow with a standard king pin, the fifth wheel trailer will turn or pivot where the king pin is usually connected to the fifth wheel hitch. With the Sidewinder, what will happen is the truck and trailer will be prevented from pivoting at the hitch by using a locking wedge, which is mounted underneath here by the king pin. Instead, the pivot point is located closer to the tailgate back here where the turret is, and that will create much more space in between the truck cab and the trailer on sharp turns. more

Today on this fifth wheel trailer were going to install part number UF35-946213. This is the Ultra-Fab Trailair Air-Ride 5th Wheel King Pin. The first thing were going to do install this is go ahead and remove the original pin box. On this particular unit, there will be two bolts on each side we have to remove. Well also remove the electrical for the breakaway switch out of the way just to give us a little more working room. To make it a little bit easier for us, we are using the pallet and a fork-truck to hold the pin box while we lower it down to the ground. more

Today, were going to review part number 5AB-E1621-16K. This is the Reese 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler. The Air Ride Coupler will bolt on to the trailer using the existing holes on your trailer. The way it operates there is an Air Nipple on the side right here. Reese recommends to always carry 10 psi in the air bag inside. It's usually best when you first install it to air it up to 70 to 80 psi. more

Today on this fifth wheel camper, we'll be removing the old pin box and installing a new turret and Sidewinder from Reese, product number RP61420. As we said earlier, before we can install our new turret, we have to remove the old pin box. To do that, we'll remove these four bolts on both sides. However, we also have to remove this breakaway switch and trailer wiring before we can remove the pin box. Bolts simply unscrew from their current positions. With all of our electrical components removed, we can remove our four fasteners. more
